EGYPT TRIP 2009
A team from Heartland traveled to Egypt, March 30th-April 11th, to serve the Egyptian people through evangelistic outreaches, wheelchair distributions, and a pastor's conference. The mission began in Cairo where Pastor Charlie spoke to a room full of business men from that area. The mission team then had the privilege of ministering in churches and tent meetings in El Fayum, El Minia, and Alexandria. Thousands were in attendance and many were saved and delivered. This year, wheelchair distributions were increased to include not only the city of El Fayum but also El Minia. The governor in El Minia was especially touched and opened his heart and city to us. Special meetings were also held for the blind adults and children from the El Minia area. One of the highlights, always, was the opportunity for Pastor Charlie to preach and minister in the Catholic Church in El Minia, with the help of our dear friend Father Baselious. The people in that place were very loving and precious.
The pastors' conference was moved this year to be held for the first time in Beet El-Wadi in partnership with Kaser Eldobara Church. There were 350+ pastors in attendance from several denominations. It was said that "the bringing together of this mix of leaders had never been done and was a miracle." Our team was very blessed to be a part. As always, the brothers and leaders of the Soul Salvation Society were instrumental in the success of this trip. They are dear friends and co-laborers in the Kingdom of God, whom we appreciate very much. We continue to believe that God will do great things in Egypt and that He will be glorified in that place. There are so many Egyptians that are hungry for a revival to come to their land and we are praying to that end. |
